Different Content Levels: Adapted reading materials provided for Social Studies cooperative learning activities on days 2-4.
Vocabulary: Students will be divided into ten groups. Each group will be given a vocabulary word. Groups will research and define the word, and write the word and definition on the board. Each group will explain the definition of the word, and give an example in a sentence while the rest of the class listens.
Graphic Organizers: Group role chart used in Social Studies cooperative learning activities.
Multi-sensory: Final assessment includes multi sensory aspects: students will include visuals, music, and dance in their presentations.
Choice Activity: Students have the choice of writing a letter to a Senator or Congressperson about their views on immigration, or volunteering with Hope for San Diego, an organization that serves the migrant and refugee communities in San Diego county.
